Costa Brava Resorts - Cadaques
Cadaques Costa Brava: Located in the Girona province of the northern Costa Brava, Cadaques has a population of about 2,600, and is relatively isolated as Costa Brava resorts go. Situated close to the Cap de Creus National Park in the Alt Empordà district, it is in an area of great natural beauty, the rugged surrounding coastline attracting many hikers and photographers.
Salvador Dali the renowned Spanish artist spent much of his childhood in cadaques and later purchased a house in nearby Portlligat.
For many centuries just a tranquil little fishing village, Cadaques now attracts lots of holidaymakers, though they are not unwelcome as the present day town relies mostly on tourism for its economic survival.
While it does attract visaitors throughout the year cadaques can be one of the Costa Brava's wildest and windiest locations during the winter time, and massive waves crash onto the rocks of the surrounding coastline - beautiful but somewhat dangerous.

Cadaques can be accessed from the GI-610 or the GI-614, it is approximately seventy kilometres from the provincial capital Girona.
